A new home away from home in Dubai

Tapa King has made another successful grand opening of their branch in UAE last February 9, 2023 at Landmark Hotel Riqqa, Deira, Dubai.

Currently, Tapa King has 5 branches in UAE, namely in Al Ghurair Center, Burjuman Center, Ibn Battuta Mall, Al Wahda Mall and now in Landmark Hotel Riqqa. This 5th branch is the first Tapa King branches implemented as a casual dining restaurant in the country and in the world.

As the COO of Tapa King, Melodina Isaguirre, has shared with Expatmedia.net, "We have a new look and feel for this Tapa King restaurant because we wanted people to feel that they are home away from home."

With the opening of this new home, Filipinos, especially OFWs in Dubai, can enjoy a new experience of their Tapa King favorites and the same classics that they have always loved while being given the special treatment that they deserve when it comes to food and service. Even outside the Philippines, every Filipino deserves to be treated as our guest or as our bisita.

All of Tapa King's branches in the UAE are franchised by the Landmark Zenath Group (LMZ). Landmark Zenath is a leading business group in the UAE based in Dubai that hold several industries including restaurants, real estate, construction, and more.

In their interview with the Global Filipino Magazine, the Group Director of Landmark Zenath Group in UAE, Mr. Deen Sadiq, shared his experience in bringing the Tapa King brand into the UAE along with Julius Magallanes, VP for International Tapa King and Melodina Isaguirre, COO of Tapa King. Mr. Deen shares, "We felt that the Filipino population was growing. Growing not only in numbers but also in terms of their spending habits and we felt that there was a lack of famous Filipino restaurants and brands in the UAE for 10-12 years time. There were a few brands from the Philippines but they were still catering to fast food and not authentic Filipino food, something that you can have in the morning, lunch, and dinner. So we did our research, and the word which came from everybody's mouth was Tapa King."

Despite not being Filipinos themselves, Mr. Deen still saw a business opportunity. The Filipino population in the UAE love to go out and enjoy themselves. Tapa King was then the famous brand that they wanted to franchise after hearing it from a lot of Filipinos in the UAE.

Mr. Deen also shares that they couldn't have put up 5 Tapa King stores "had it not been for the support of Tapa King Management in the Philippines - from marketing support, manpower, menu training, etc. We tried to follow the guidelines of the Philippines and they have been always in full support."

‍The interior look and space of the store

During its grand opening, many Filipino and international guests filled the store along with various influencers and press. The program ended with a ceremonial toast before everyone enjoyed and celebrated with all the Tapa King dishes.

The store is located at the lobby area of Landmark Hotel Riqqa but is easily noticeable from the outside of the hotel. The warm tones of red and yellow, and different shades of brown paired with the wide lighted sunrays along the ceiling will give you that familiar atmosphere of being at home while in the middle of the busy, bustling streets of Dubai.
